What Happened to “Passion-Over-Profit”?

Alongside with the big announcement of the brand to level things up, transitioning the start-up brand to an small partnership company deeming the brand as a child brand of its newly established Macanne Ltd., it leaves our affiliates and friends with the question “What Happened to Passion-Over-Profit?” principles that made We.Hrvst Lifestyle unique from other startups that pops out here and there.

With 6 month window to finalize the decision of moving up, a lot of our partners, friends, affiliates and even team members were left puzzled as the “20/20 initiative” announcement came out late 2018. The founders of We.Hrvst Lifestyle decided to move up addressing concerns to sustainability and opening more doors to opportunity.

The 20/20 Initiative

Directly referring to the brand’s vision of being a full-pledged start-up company from a externally supported upstart wherein friends and families of the owners shell out funds for the brands to operate. With this initiative, We.Hrvst Lifestyle splits up into two brands adding We.Hrvst Media on board, both of the brands will be under its parent company, macanne ltd. –  a startup company that follows a limited liability partnership structure between the founders, Kimi Siao (will assume as Founder/CEO for We.Hrvst Lifestyle and Mackie Daus (will assume as Founder/CVO for We.Hrvst Media). this will also reorganize the structure of operations of the company as a whole.

The Passion Over Profit Principle

Most of us know (atleast those who worked with We.Hrvst Lifestyle) that the brand worked under a “passion-over-profit” principle for almost 6 years, and this has been the spine for the brands growing frameworks that kept the brand rolling, leaving a good impression to others. Now as the brand transitions to a company, this means it will be functioning as one as well. That leaves us the question “what happens to the passion-over-profit principle that has been keeping ball rolling for the team?”

It will be the same, the frameworks, workflow, projects, pending and upcoming obligations will all be the same. Nothing will change. This venture started as a passion brand and will always be a passion brand or in this case a passion company

Mackie Daus (Founder/CVO)

However, it has been determined that the transition is mainly for the sole purpose of the brand to function as usual with stable funding as this initiative will bring sustainability of the company and efficiency of its members. The profits of this venture will soon suffice the funding needs for development and compensation for its projects rather than being an upstart wherein its founders utilize personal funds to comply with its needs. It will also give its partners the capability to expand their craft as they engage with bigger clients like massive business tycoons and such with the help of its COO Joaquin Aldeguer. Core members will be given a decent share of asset and ownership to the company that soon can generate profit as the company grows on top of their specific partnership compensations provided that they will comply with the clients’ needs.
